Living with Lucia
During my time working at EOI Dos Hermanas I decided to live with one of the students of the school. I got into contact with Lucia before I came to Spain and we decided to live together. I am so grateful for this opportunity because it meant I had such a wonderful stay in Spain.
We lived in Montequinto, a suburb/small town of Dos Hermanas. It's new, clean, friendly and fairly peaceful. I wanted to live somewhere that wasn't too busy so Montequinto was perfect, but the fact it was on the metro line that takes you directly into the city centre of Seville was a huge bonus.
I have loved living with Lucia. We laughed together, cried together and did everything in between. From day one Lucia was welcoming and friendly, on my first day she took me on an impromptu walking tour of the centre of Seville so I could get my bearings, showed me the shops, parks and amenities of Montequinto and generally made me feel right at home.
It's impossible to mention all of the fun things we did together during the year, but here are a few so you can get an idea (and maybe get a bit jealous!) We went to museums, expositions, film screenings and the theatre in Seville, set off into the mountains and wilderness in Andalucía to go hiking and scrambling like little mountain goats; we visited the Roman city of Italica and spent countless nights round the dinner table talking over dinner, telling stories and laughing until our sides hurt - all in our alternate days of English and Spanish so we both got an opportunity to practice and help each other with our languages.
For all of this I have Lucia to thank. She is one of the most optimistic, caring, enthusiastic and funny people I think I will ever meet in my life. She has taught me so much about her culture, country, food and outlook on life. Thank you Lucia, I love you! <3

ResponderEliminarAnte todo mis disculpas, por la tardanza en relatar mis vivencias como alumna de acogidade la EOI de Dos Hermanas, con Abigail, aqui en Sevilla,por problemas tècnicos y personales.
ResponderEliminarBueno, poco tengo que añadir a lo comentado por Abigail ,como bien ha dicho ella ,contactamos en verano por internet ,charlamos y ella decidio venir a casa .
Hemos hecho muchas cosas juntas tanto culturales ( cine ,teatro ,museos ,noche blanca incluso,mostrar una Sevilla distinta ,no solo la turistica ,ciertos rincones maravillosos que incluso muchos sevillanos ,ni conocen ,con su historia o leyenda ) ,deportivas ( carreras ,yoga ,senderismo ,montañismo) y creativas ,algunas han sido su primera vez ,como alguna carrera benefica por ejemplo.Aunque a decir verdad,nos ha faltado tiempo para hacer otras muchas que habiamos planeado .
Desde el primer dia tuvimos una gran conexiòn y como ella dice hemos tenido grandes vivencias juntas ,con bromas y risas, asi como algun momento regularilloque nos ha unido mas ,pues vivir lejos de casa no es facil a veces .
Ha descubierto tambien parte de nuestra gastronomia y enologia ,descubriendo nuevos sabores ,ella y su familia ,pues les transmitia sus sorprendentes nuevas experiencias y su madre en UK, los buscaba para asi saber como era lo que ella estaba disfrutando,recuerdo la tarde de las chirimoyas ,por ejemplo jajajajaa .Su familia y amigos han estado tb en casa sin problema,lo mismo que ella he tenido su espacio, cuando lo ha querido.
En fin ,ha sido una buena experiencia ,a nivel de intercambio linguistico,lo organizamos desde el primer dia y lo hemos mantenido hasta el final ,hemos hablado de las costumbres y formas de vida o educaciòn o sitemas politicos ,incluso relacionales o de transportes y sus diferencias entre nuestros paises, ampliandode esta forma, nuestra comprensiòn de ambos entornos.
Es una persona muy valiente y luchadora,que sabe centrarse y establecer prioridades, muy educada y respetuosa,cariñosa, coqueta y divertida ,sensible e inteligente ,con gran apertura de mente y sociable,muy amdura para lo joven que es ,¡ole tu!
A nivel personal podria contar mil momentos vividos,o sorpresas que nos hemos preparado,peeeero me lo reservo por respetar la intimidad y porque las cosas escritas, para quien no sabe escribir,como es mi caso,que ni pongo acentos ,perdon por ello , pierden chispa o la emoción del momento, tal como lo hemos vivido.Solo dire que otro trocito de mi corazon, esta tb ahora en UK, en Cambridge o alla donde ella vaya y mi casa siempre sera la suya en Sevilla.
Gracias a ti siempre princesa,yo tb te quiero.... una harta.
